Wound up in Wexford

Ice, fire and water

One of our South African visitors, having never been to Ireland before, was told that she "must do the Ring of Kerry".  They had been planning to spend a couple of days with another friend, possibly doing a bus tour, but that idea fell through.

So we've booked a few days in a hotel in Tralee.  Sadly, the weather forecast isn't looking great.

We attempted first to visit The Metal Man, but Google Maps took us along a road behind him, and we found no parking opportunity nor any obvious footpath.  In fact, subsequent research suggests he was in the past approached from the sea front carpark a little further east, but is currently not accessible, as the footpath along the cliff edge is dangerous, and has been closed.

After that failure, we drove along the Copper Coast, stopping at many of the same places we had stopped with R only a few weeks ago.  It was windy, and, intermittently rainy.

This sculpture is in one of the view points.

As we drove towards Tralee, the weather deteriorated, and the rain lashed down.  We were not sorry to arrive, and relieved to find the forecast for tomorrow is a little better.
