Sunday: Spud and C.

I mentioned that we were in Placencia with some new friends.  I didn’t know C previously but she works for the same organisation and got in touch when her husband, Spud, got a posting here with the army.  They’re now based in Belize City where C works remotely.  

We met up recently and got on really well so we decided to do a weekend away together.  It was fabulous - we had a great time and were totally on the same wavelength.  

We’re now back in Belmopan but we were out again this evening for drinks at the former Foreign Minister’s house.  It was a reception for a visiting VIP from Washington.  It was a pleasant evening but the bugs were out in force.

The host gave a speech and also mentioned that we were leaving soon along with some nice remarks.  It would have been so much better if I hadn’t been in the toilet………
