BCAM2024 - Day 7
Sorry, more pics of flowers!
We are after all visiting a garden city ;-).
Headed out to Newtown Park early as we had a 10am check out. So we thought we’d try and do a few more parks that had floral displays before heading back to check out. Thankfully Toowoomba isn’t a huge city.
We managed Newtown Park and Laurel Bank which were just as beautiful as yesterday.
Newtown Park has a vast rose garden. There were so many varieties of roses (most at the end of their time as is my main picture but still so pretty), fascinating!
Then to Laurel Bank where we found the most beautiful combinations of flowers, Our eyes have beheld much beauty today. And the trees in Toowoomba were just as amazing! Even on the main roads.
Martin and I reckoned it’s because they’re inland and not exposed to salt water as the trees on the Sunshine Coast!
After check out, we thought we’d visit one last garden … the Japanese garden at University of Southern Queensland. That too was most pleasant. We didn’t get to see the cherry blossoms, cause they were blooming August/September, but we did enjoy the serenity of the water, shady spots, bridges and pretty landscaping.
Finally started our long drive back around noon. All good until about 20 mins from home and there was sadly a huge crash on the Sunshine Motorway, so we had to reroute through the David Low Way! But we made it home safely :).
Oh and we have enjoyed the jacarandas as well, we’ve had our fill!
