Spider!

I was awake early again…just after 5 a.m.  After I got up I listened to Sounds Of The 70s on ‘BBC Sounds’ catchup..normal practice on Monday mornings as I don’t often get to listen to it live on a Sunday afternoon.

Absolutely gutted to hear Johnnie Walker announce that he has decided to retire for health reasons at the end of this month.. I knew he was ill and had been struggling for a while, but still a shock - he has been a part of my ‘music life’ for so many years…from early teens, trying to catch the new Top 40 chart rundown at Tuesday lunchtime, hoping that the morning school lessons would not overrun and that I wouldn’t get caught by the teacher and have my transistor radio confiscated, later he joined me in my car for my drive home from work for a few years…Drive Time on radio 5.

Saturday afternoons, he hosted “The Stereo Sequence” when Radio 1 (which was AM only at that time) was broadcast on the Radio 2 FM frequencies. For the last 15 years he has been the voice of Sounds Of The Seventies - shows which I have either recorded or listened to on catchup.

Out on my walk I found this fab (huge) spider lurking in the centre of a waterdrop bejewelled web..a nice bit of sunlight helping to show it all up.

We had a busy morning stuffing the car full of junk to take to the tip…we have to make space in the garage for the boiler service on Friday!! Rubbish all gone now!!
