It's the start of a
new week with colours changing
and cooler nights now

I was out on my deck for my first photo at 7:30. The sky over my mountains looked promising so I was off to MacArthur Island Park right away.

I drove in at the east entrance and when I made the turn at the north entrance I found the deer. A doe and her two friends were grazing along the edge of the road. I got my shots and moved on to discover two young bucks, but they scooted past me so quickly I didn't get even one decent photo.

I parked near the footbridge to look into the slough from the bridge. I found 4 herons wading in the shallow water. Their colouring is so pale that they seem almost transparent. I was amused this morning at how the ducks seem to irritate the herons. It must be the competition for food. I would think the slough is depleted as it hasn't been replenished by the river for weeks now.

Just as I was leaving the "Geriatric Cycling Club", as I call them, came zooming by me and zipped over the footbridge. Usually there are 8 or more but they were a very small group of 5 today.

I picked up breakfast and made for home. I have a number of duties to perform today at home,  They will keep me busy all day.
