The Hollows

Just a lane you say? Well, it is and it isn't. There is steep banking on either side which supposedly marked the boundaries of Saxon farms & the space between was actually a ditch. To be honest, I was a bit sceptical. I'm prepared to believe they are very old but thought it more likely the 'ditch' and banks were just worn down by 1500 years of feet tramping backwards & forwards! Who knows?
