Momma Cardinal in the Morning

Poppa Cardinal was nearby, of course, but I loved the light on her feathers.  Poppa is a flashy red, but momma is more subtle and to my way of thinking, more beautiful.  Our rain is over and now a good day for John to come and continue cutting things back.  Slowly, we are making progress.  I'm anxiously awaiting Hurricane Milton's landfall in Florida.  My friend there had to evacuate again.  It is a very dangerous storm.  Today is the first day of in person voting here in Maine.  I will be casting my ballot for the Harris-Walz team and then praying until November 5th.
