Tiny Tuesday: "Fire"

As you've probably guessed on looking at the photo, this is a little bit of the flame on a gas hob - I like the way it looks like a pair of spooky eyes, almost Darth Vader style!

I find the gas flame very handy for momentarily heating the tip of fine forceps to red heat to sterilise them before using them to remove a splinter (WARNING: If you try this yourself at home, let the forceps cool first...cold water from the tap does a good job). The forceps are left over from my ophthalmic surgery career (note that the same sterilisation technique was not used then!).
