A wet day out

Woke to a very wet morning, but hoped that it would clear up as it did yesterday. It didn't. We set off for Cragside, as planned, and drove through heavy mist for quite a while. If you haven't visited Cragside it's worth looking it up - it's an amazing place and much more than simply a rich man's house! My Blip today is of the house in the mist.

The rain had eased a little when we arrived so we spent some time in the formal garden and round about. I met the Head Gardener and had a nice chat - I didn't know him previously.

Lunch in the cafe and then the plan was to go around the house, but owing to a sore back and the fact that I'd seen it before, I decided not to do it again. It rained heavily during the afternoon and on the way back to Alnwick - we didn't ready need to come all this way just to see rain! A good day, in spite of the weather.
