Wet
After work, we went to The Hawks Nest at Shepherd's Bush Market for some farewell drinks for James. I managed to get in early and we had a good catch-up about the early days working together. Although I haven't worked closely with him since returning, seeing him go is sad. But he leaves with everybody's best wishes.
I had to leave one pub early to get to another, as drinks with Frank, postponed from last week, had been rearranged to coincide with today's Thirsty Thursday. C was flying in from Copenhagen and has been making a point all week about me not being late so she doesn't have to stand in a pub on her own, wheeling a suitcase. Ultimately, her plane was delayed, and she and Frank had to wait longer than expected for their trains. So, I would have been waiting in a Carnaby Street pub alone. Instead, I went to get some food before they arrived.
Despite the rain and the fact we had to stand outside because it was far too loud inside The White Horse, we had a lovely evening. C had been told she needed work on improving her LinkedIn presence, so she decided to take a photo of the three of us and crowbar some reference to the meeting she'd been to. I am not sure it worked, but by the time I was home, she had already been messaging me about the responses from people.
