Hill Top Ramblings

Autumn colours

It was a bit drizzly today. The border has some colour, and the hydrangea has done really well, retaining its blue and still producing flowers.
I noticed the little Acer ‘dissectum’ too, looking lovely. It’s a tree we have had for 35 years or so. It lived in a container at first, and when we moved to Cumbria it went into the rose garden. Here misfortune struck, Maria’s golden retriever Benji discovered that it had lovely sweet sap, and chewed off its top! It was in too much sun and rather dry there, so back in a pot for some years, until I found it’s forever home in the top border. Here, it is doing rather well and looks established, although still only 24” tall, but spreading out sideways.mimwill have a good weed around it and give it some more mulch. One of my favourites!
That’s my nine year Blip, how lovely! All thanks to Blipper Sheilwill who once showed me her delightful yearbook that she had published. It seemed such a great idea that I joined in and have been going ever since!
