My goodness, is that the time?

There can be very little doubt as to what the time is here in Machynlleth.  At the top of the high street is this very imposing Victorian clock and tower and it chimes every 15 minutes (single dong at quarter past,  double dong at half past, 3 dongs at quarter to and 4 dongs at o'clock before then chiming once for each hour ie 6 for 6 o'clock etc (luckily they dont use a 24 hour clock!)).  Thankfully it is not an intrusive sound and quite comforting at night as we are within 30 metres of it.
It is market day today, an event the local community looks forward to.  We will visit, perhaps purchase some interesting local cheeses.
