Assorted sites

Went on the full day Kyoto tour.  This one really was on a coach.  We visited six cultural sites in all.  Main shows the last stop which is the Kiyomizu-dera temple complex.  First morning stop was at Nijo-jo castle (extra 1 shows detail of one of the gates).  Then on to the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) - extra 2.  After that it was the Imperial palace, no photography allowed inside so extra 3 shows one of the gates with the palace beyond.  Atfter lunch we changed to another coach and guide and continued on.  Extra 4 shows some of the torii at the Fushimi Inari-Taisha shrine. Second place in the afternoon was the Sanjusangen-do temple which houses 1001 life-size statues of Buddhist deities.  No photography allowed inside or out.  Quite a long day but well worth it.
