Coffee Morning
Isn't this quilt just the best? It was on display in the library where we attended a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer support. Along with others it was made for Project Linus UK, for premature babies.
The charity covers sick, disabled, disadvantaged or distressed children to provide comfort with these donated gifts.
But my eye was drawn to this as a suitable entry to the Community October Challenge of Stripes - not only is the patterning striped but the components are also striped. being made of tape measures. When I can I'll add the name of the lady who made it.
Sufficiently replete we drove down to Portobello for a stroll on the beach - and were nearly blown away. The waves were massive, foamy with turbulence and I wouldn't care to think what deposits on the beach we walked through but they looked most unpleasant (we later found a nice puddle to wash our shoes).
The north wind proved too cold to stay long so we took a tour round all the charity shops on the way back to the car.
