Gently down the stream

Dragonfly

After yesterday's bee shot and various conversations with blippers about how long they will remain around through the rest of the year, I paid special attention to insects on my reserve walk today.  I'd gone out nearer to lunchtime than breakfast and although the air was cold, the sun, when out, was really quite warm, so I wasn't surprised to see quite a few.  No butterflies, of course, but bees of several varieties, various flies, day-flying moths that disappeared as soon as they landed (shame, I'd have liked to blip them) and down by the pond there were several damsel and dragonflies (thanks, Incredibish, for the ID).  Admittedly that's a sheltered spot, but I certainly didn't expect to see any more of the so-called 'odonatas' this year.

Anyway, here we are, one of them!

The rest of the day's been spent cleaning the house and picking up prescriptions and a cabbage. Life it full of excitement, don't you find?

Have a lovely evening, dear blipmates  xx
