In front of the stove

It's not so very often I spend a whole day indoors, not setting foot outside the door. So why today?
The bad back is definitely a contributory factor. Most of the jobs left to do outside involve lifting things, or doing jobs in the van that involve bending over or twisting around. Not today thanks!
Instead I spent a fair bit of time doing gentle back exercises. Yesterday I started the first stages of recovery (Thanks for the treatment Karin!) and today I was in a lot less pain and could move more easily, which even means the necessary exercises are easier to do as well. Hooray! (Thanks
However, if it had been a sunny autumn day I'd have definitely been outside anyway so the really wet weather is the main reason I've not been through the front door. First  mist, then rain.  It rains here fairly often but usually fairly gently. 5mm in a day is considered a lot of rain. Today we are getting 35mm, and yesterday was similar. I'm glad we live at the top of the hill!
Doing back exercises in a warm room in front of the wood burner, lying on a sheepskin, while hearing the rain outside, feels really luxurious, and makes me very grateful for the good things in my life!
