Today has been an uphill slog.
So as well as a new scooter costing almost £3000 more than the insurance payout, now Younger Son D has been ripped off again with the insurance. The brokers went to his existing insurer to change the policy to a slightly updated version of the scooter that was written off - same make, model & size - but they declined to quote on the new one. Last year he paid under £450. Now, okay so a new scooter is worth more than one that’s 2.5 years old, but he had to pay just over £1000 on a new policy.
This used to be the main road out of Frome and was quite a challenge for the horse-drawn coaches. It was quite a challenge for me too when I went to collect my car from the garage this afternoon!
