It's been one of those thoroughly miserable days—cool temperatures and rain showers from morning till night. 

In the pot that holds our Christmas tree, a cluster of fungi has sprouted, seemingly overnight. The damp, chilly autumnal weather has clearly created the perfect environment for them to flourish.
