Come Alive!
Man, what a busy but excellent day!
A run first thing, down the river, across Chiswick Bridge, then back over Kew Bridge, and back to the hotel. Last run before the marathon!
After that, we travelled over to Aldgate East for a business meeting before going to the Union Jack Club to meet Dan and my folks for lunch, which was very pleasant.
As the Minx was going shopping, Dan and I went ‘round to The King’s Arms on Roupell Street for a couple of beers before relocating to The Wellington in the (ultimately vain) hope of seeing my brother.
Late afternoon, I took my leave of Dan and rode the tube over to Earls Court to meet the Minx, where we were going to see ‘Come Alive: The Greatest Showman’, featuring the miniMinx!
Now, I’m not one for musicals, but this turned out to be considerably more than that. A no expense spared spectacular, in fact, featuring all sorts of largely circus-based treats, including the most extraordinary guy on a slack wire. I think I held my breath for the whole of his performance.
Plus it was a joy to see the miniMinx in her element. Her dancing was extraordinary and I love how totally believable she is in everything she does.
And we finished our day at The Lilly Langtry, where we were joined by both Dan and a tired but happy miniMinx. Home tomorrow!
