Old rugby memorabilia, now retired.
Our younger son came briefly this afternoon to do a job for me. Then left promptly, as he and his partner were hospitality guests at Glasgow Warriors v Zebre rugby game tonight. He was invited along in recognition of his work in development of school rugby.
The significance of old t-shirt? Well, we used to go to see Glasgow Rugby (not Warriors then!) play in the Celtic Cup between 2003 and 2005, when he had just started playing! The Celtic Cup consisted of teams from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, it only ran for two seasons. Its motto was Three Nations, Twelve Teams, One Passion.
The t shirt was eventually relegated to painting and decorating attire….and coincidentally surfaced in a clean out today just before he arrived. It’s now been officially retired.
And the hospitality? By all accounts it was grand, and Glasgow won 33-3. We watched on Premier Sports channel.
