A stroll through our pasts with my walking buddy this afternoon. She’d lived at three addresses here as a single mother with three young children; I was in a share house. So it was a mix of childcare centres, workplaces and parks for her, pubs and clubs for me. That’s her in the reflection.

I don’t remember this building on the corner of my old street, but an architect bought it recently, peeled back the layers and revealed its history. The SMH ran an article.
