Six Hobblers Leaping

Still on Catch up because we haven't stopped!  Yesterday (Saturday) began with four of us doing the Cinder Track Parkrun and three of us staying in bed.  It was an enjoyable out and back course with a slight incline all the way up to the turnaround.  Thankfully, we were back at the house just as the rain began but after showers and cuppas it stopped and we were ready to walk through the town and along the beach to Sandsend.  The tide was only just on the turn so there were a couple of hilarious and not always successful racing the waves around the promontories.  There also had to be leaping in front of the colourful beach huts.  We reached Sandsend and took some lunch at the cafe just off the beached, then it was a race to the bus stop and back to Whitby as we had an early dinner booking at Casa Nostra.

Some of us took a stroll around the shops. I bought the Mason Cash baking bowl I had long wanted, from one of those kitchen shops which is like Ali Baba's Cave.  Then it was back to the house with time for three of us to don our cossies and dressing gowns and take our Prosecco into the hot tub.  It took us a while to get in there which gave the many tourists on the steps something to photograph and point to!

Muscles eased in the bubbles and minds relaxed with the bubbles, the Hobblers came back together for a very enjoyable Italian meal just five minutes' walk away and I got to have my first ever Aperol Spritzer which I shall be having again.

The evening was then taken up with very silly party games and sparklers on the patio.
