Harvest Sunday

The church was beautifully decorated for harvest and people brought non perishable gifts which will be distributed by volunteers tomorrow! In the normal course of events we would have a joint10am service but this year they kept the 9.30 and 11.15 so we took the opportunity of singing old familiar harvest hymns that don’t get sung if the band are playing.

Extra: after service I walked up to the Hoe and into the Peace Garden and took this photo looking up towards the Hoe. Smeatons tower can be seen and the drake memorial the weather was fresh but off and on sunny and the walk was invigorating. The walk home after the evening service was through the rain and I arrived home just in time to get a phone call from my sister, always a joy!
