Doesn't get better than this!

It's these kind of days you wait all year for in the Lakes - cloudless blue sky, warming sunshine and a glass lake. With the sun quite low it illuminated a pathway straight to the shingle and we could swim straight up a river of sunshine . So, although our bodies were bathed in water our heads were bathed in light - making angels of us all - not just Angela. 

Temperature of water 7C and unusually, it felt warmer than Bassenthwaite. Jane thinks this is because it is deeper and therefore holds its summer temperature longer than shallow Bass.
