The Open Road

The ol' bill on bond street...

Accompanying my mum to an opticians check up today in Harley Street, we thought we would make the trip worthwhile by taking pictures for her monopoly photography project. We managed to take pictures of new and old Bond Street, Piccadilly, Regents street, the disappointing Vine street and Oxford street. Stopping at the Piccadilly Starbucks for a double shot mocha cookie crumble frappucino to cool off in the 30 degree heat (my favourite part!!)

But back to the main point, I was surprised to find that nearly every shop in New and Old Bond Street had a security guard standing outside in a nice Amani suit and had a cool ear piece. I felt I was in the most secure road in the UK and also felt slightly sorry for the huge burley guys who seemed to be slowly melting in the London heat.
The presence of police on horses added to the safe feeling while we stared longingly through the windows of shiny jewellery shops...
