The Cinder Track
A bit of a railway theme today!
The Cinder Track is the name given to a foot/cycle path that runs along the route of the old Scarborough to Whitby railway line.
It is about 21 miles long. Anyway, today we walked from Scarborough, approx 5 miles along the route to Cloughton..and then back again. So 10 miles and 24k steps.
We made two diversions..one for coffee at a tea room and then for lunch at a pub in Cloughton…a very nice steak pie and veg was accompanied by a superb pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord ale.
The weather was fabulous..and quite warm for October.
At Cloughton the old station building has been turned into a self catering holiday let, which includes an old railway carriage parked at the platform..see extra 1.
There was also an old semaphore signal at one end of the platform and I managed a shot of it through the trees….see extra 2.
