Crafty
A fun afternoon at my u3a craft group. We are making decorations for our entry to the local Christmas Tree competition. These will all be in u3a colours of blue and yellow. Today a fellow member taught us how to make fabric pine cones using squares of material (we had to cut 48 2 inch squares ) which we folder and pinned onto a polystyrene egg. I thought at first it might be too fiddly for my liking but actually found it relaxing. I was intrigued by how the pattern emerged and the mathematics behind (working out how many squares you need and what size they should). As always it was enjoyable to be working alongside others.
