The Water Tree
Over to the West... to the element of water. Not easy in a macro sense, and yet here it is, pretending to be the tree of life... with the help of a tiny spider.
Changeable, like the emotions. Sometimes icy, occasionally steamy, and generally wet. The water is potentially to the west because there lay the Atlantic in the British and particularly Irish tradition, what became the western mystery traditions, in the same way the heat was to the south.
Being triple minded; ice, water, steam, Water is amazingly powerful. It uses heat to create motion and power. Rivers drove waterwheels that ground our flour. It lives as much in the air as it does on and within the earth, shaping clouds and making rain (so much rain...)
And in tiny dew drops atop a spider web in a small nature reserve in Charfield parish... water is a bejewelled water tree... blessings of the hazel filled salmon. ;-)
