An ordinary life....

Little yellow rose...

D was up early as he had to have the car in Perth at 8am for its MOT.  I slept a little later as I was awake half the night coughing.  This cold has been really strange in that it's not made me feel particularly bad, but it does make me cough during the night.  Very annoying!

D got the train back from Perth, walked home from Gleneagles Station and by the time I got downstairs he'd sneaked to the driving range in Alan's car.  He was back in time for lunch but just as I was about to make it, Penny and Alan were heading out to Perth and D went with them as he'd received a call to say the car was ready.  MOT done and no problems.

When he returned (he brought me these flowers :-) we had coffee and resumed car discussions we'd been having over the weekend.

Last Monday when we visited a car dealer, we didn't like the car we went to see, but loved a different model in the showroom.  Unfortunately it wasn't for sale as it was their demonstrator and they have to have it available to customers till January.  Of course since then D has been scouring all the dealers searching for an equivalent, which he found in a dealership in Birmingham!  He's been in his element negotiating with them all weekend (D would change car every six months if he could!  He loves the thrill of the car chase!) and said he would let them know this afternoon if we were going ahead with the trade in and purchase.  Well of course we were!  *rolls eyes*  All being well, the garage will deliver the car to us a week on Friday, and collect our car.

I am quite excited!  We've had SUV's for a number of years now and they're not always easy for me to get in and out of (our current car, a VW Touareg, has running boards so at least I can step on that to get in) but we're changing to a Volvo V90, which is so much easier for me, especially with my abdominal surgery hopefully taking place in the next few months.  It will also be easier for Lola as she gets older, and for D lifting my wheels in and out.  I will be sad to say goodbye to the Touareg though, I really do love that car.

D out at his singing rehearsal this evening.  I'm about to catch up with the Great British Bakeoff.  Caramel week.  Yum!
