Scottish women making history

This is the name of a new book series produced by Edinburgh University Press, the first volume of which is a biography of Chrystal Macmillan, co-written by my friend HK. I look forward to future volumes.

I enjoyed attending the event. It was a good end to a long day at the office. Lots of people I knew were there - but many of them didn't know each other, which I always find odd. I always feel the different parts of my life should add up neatly to something more than just me knowing those particular people.

Having snacked on the canapés after the launch, and supped two glasses of wine, I didn't feel like any supper when I got home (and indeed I evaded an invitation to join the writers at The Outsider for dinner).
