Mermaids, Medics and Music
First of all, apologies for not having time to even look at journals yesterday. I probably won’t have time today either, but I really will try to catch up, even if it’s just with stars. Thanks so much for all the lovely comments.
We start our journey today with yet another hospital appointment in Liverpool. This time it’s Tropical Medicine - and it’s very much a case of pulling together the findings of all the different medical experts to confirm the way forward. I will always be so grateful for the consultant here who kick-started the multi-disciplinary approach. She agrees it would be foolhardy to start me on methotrexate now; this will be something we’ll start when I return from our long trip. Overall we’re both pleased that I’m feeling better and generally positive (though I know this can change so quickly).
Having spent over two hours in the clinic - waiting time including- I’m desperate for a coffee, and in the area there’s only really one option - Starbucks. We went through a long period of avoiding Starbucks at all costs; we didn’t like the coffee and it was just too corporate. The discovery of Fruit Toast - delicious - and the establishment of Starbucks at convenient places on the smaller roads - has now made it an acceptable place to stop - though we’d prefer independent coffee shops. Anyway, a Starbucks Americano definitely hits the spot, and I decide the mural will also be my blip today. It’s not tiny, I’m afraid, but with a bit of faffing I manage to change the original orange to a watery blue.
And that starts me thinking. Is this a corporate mural found in all the outlets? Going down the rabbit hole that so often accompanies blip postings, it seems that murals appear to be a ‘thing’ with Starbucks, and I’ve included a couple of links.

Then it’s on to Meols and time with Lili. She’s so active now and spends very little time napping - such a little character. Television and tablets are both very limited, but G uses a keyboard app to introduce Lili to the joy of piano playing - there’s a shot in extras.
