“What the heck is this???”

No Biskit, it’s not a rabbit hole!!
 
This sink hole appeared in the ‘set aside’ in the field out back a while ago, but this is the first time he has noticed it.  When it didn’t smell of anything good he quickly lost interest. Heaven knows what is down there to cause this one, but ground is ‘sand and clay’ (Mrs W knows the correct terminology) and there are aquifers under the field.
 
Solved another problem today, the battery flattening weather station.  ‘Weather Spares’ quickly diagnosed the problem as a common fault, and quite cheaply rectified if you are useful with a soldering iron (see extra).  The capacitor tends to leak after a number of years, and we’ve had the weather station a good fifteen.  The replacement parts are on order.
