Turning Point

Back in the land of connectivity, so I’ll start to catch up hopefully. This is a bronze sculpture on the Mall in Armagh; it was created in 1992 by Brian Connolly for Belfast and later relocated to Armagh. It is rather good; officially it’s described as “Supported by two male and two female figures, a tilted globe with raised lines of longitude and latitude and numerous low relief symbols, patterns and objects, all upon a two-stepped circular base.” Unofficially, you look through the person closest to your height and see ‘stars’ from the deliberate holes in the globe.

Best on black.

Today’s entry on the Abstract Fiesta journal is a Conker.
