Glorious Autumn reflections!
A lovely start to the day for our early walk though it was virtually dark when I set off from home.
I could see the brightness in the sky to the east but there wasn’t really a spot to capture the sunrise on the walk up to the St Ives estate woods for 7.15 am
When we reached the recently felled area near Lady Blantyre's Rock the lovely colour in the sky could clearly be seen above the dereliction - see Wilsden Walker here
After last night’s heavy rain the paths had been heavily washed by run off but it was otherwise not bad underfoot. Stopped to feed the ducks at Coppice Pond and as I walked around the far side I could see all the swans (10) setting off towards the feeders. (The male swan is in the lead hidden behind the branches on the left - extra. First extra is the sun rising across the golf course )
This was going to be my blip until I saw this great reflection.
A great morning walk in good company as usual.
We had a planned trip to Ilkley for a Silver Screening at Ilkley cinema. A Yorkshire horror story, a bit weird but we did get free coffee and cake and have spotted a couple of future films we’d like to see. The film was called ‘Starve Acre’ the name of the remote farm where it is set. This name doesn't surprise me for a Yorkshire farm as my mother was brought up on a farm officially called Laverock Hall but it was commonly known as Grow Nowt - meaning Grow Nothing!
Very warm and totally dry so when we got back after lunch I went straight out and planted my 25 Allium drumsticks. Glad that’s done. Just need to get Chris to plant the Scilla bulbs I ordered too. He needs to do it as he’s marked out where the daffodils are in the spring.
Hoping for another good day tomorrow..
