Geocaching and comet-spotting

We had a lovely geocaching trip to Southport. It was sunny and warm for the time of year. It reached 18C in the afternoon.

I went out this evening to try to spot the comet. I went out a few times and tried different techniques on the camera but couldn't see it with camera or naked eye.
Doh.
Only when i put the photos on the desktop and viewed them full screen did I think oh hang one, what's that faint thing on the left?
I had been focussed on the wrong area.
On my desktop I realised two of them had the comet on but on the left edge of the photo, and very faint. The ones I had zoomed in for had cut it off the pictures and if I had moved my gaze and camera more to the left I'd have seen it properly and got a decent photo.

You probably can't see the comet but it is there, very faint, most of its tail off pic, left edge at about 11 o clock position from the chimney!
Now I have a better idea I will look again tomorrow night but knowing my luck it will be cloudy!
