Red pillars at Blackfriars Bridge

These red pillars that stand in the Thames at one time supported the original Blackfriars Railway Bridge (built 1864, dismantled 1985). One row of red pillars was used in the rebuilding of the new Blackfriars Station (opened 2011-12), so now, only two rows remain visible. The extras show the new Blackfriars Station with its platforms that span the river.
