Cream dragon

In Knaresborough again this afternoon. I retired to a little cafe on the edge of the castle grounds and ordered a cream tea, which isn't something I would normally choose. I blame all this sunshine. The scone was sweet, the jam inoffensive....and this was the cream. I actually quite enjoyed the cream......I slathered it on the precisely sliced scone and even licked a little from the knife like a purring cat on a kitchen counter. But with these kinds of indulgent foods, there is always a delicate dividing line between the nice and the icky. There I was having a good time when suddenly the cream seemed to curdle in my mouth and my stomach churned in protest. Coca-cola has a similar effect on me....a glass or two on a hot or stuffy day hits the spot but have that little bit too much, and to quote George Harrison, "what is sweet now turns so sour".....all of a sudden you feel like you like you're drinking gassy poison. And well, you are really....
