Dam Spicy

Nina accompanied me for a morning hike in Anthem Hills and decided to scrawl her name into an enormous oxidized power pole we passed. We spent some time banging rocks on the surface of poles seeing what sort of sounds we could get out of them. These come from Hoover Dam and carry enough power that you can hear the electric hum in the air. Pressing one’s ear up to the pole sounds like the flow of a waterfall.

In the evening we met up with Noah and Lily at Hatti B’s Hot Chicken to settle a bet made months before. Noah won the bet by eating the most spicy chicken sandwich at the establishment (something I told him he could not do when we were driving across the US together earlier this year). He proved me wrong, but it looked painful.
