Orange sky in the morning . . .
. . . gardener's warning!
Always good to see a bright sky in the morning - my Blip today. This was taken through the window as I wasn't in a position to go outside! Unfortunately it didn't last - before long it was raining and the rain has continued most of the day.
Spent some time this morning composing for the u3a Creative Writing Group. I've only been to one meeting this session - the next is on Tuesday. So far it's been a good laugh! One of the fun things which happens at meetings is to write for ten minutes about an object which someone has brought and pulled out of a bag.
Daughter One and a friend have spent a few days away, and returned here in time to drive up to the Beach Café at SAMS (the Marine Laboratory) at Dunstaffnage with us for lunch before setting off for their respective homes.
Finished off by selecting a poem to read out at the u3a Poetry Group. As the next meeting is on the 5th November the selected theme was ‘Fireworks’, to be interpreted in any way we wish. I chose 'Fireworks' by Amy Lowell - a rather different take on the word! https://allpoetry.com/poem/14328143-Fireworks-by-Amy-Lowell.
My extra today is of a bunch of sweet peas - still blooming profusely out on the deck.
Quote of the Day: 'Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.’ - Tommy Cooper.
