Massive LP collection

I'm back at my son's home and great fun was had, reading books with both grandkids tonight. I read three Elephant and Piggy books with the 3 year old and two different books with the almost 8 year old... She actually read them to me! I only just arrived at lunchtime and will be leaving tomorrow morning for the airport, so it's a very short visit this time. But so good to see them again.

When I saw Dallas's massive LP record collection again today, I had to take a photo. He's been into music for so long, he told me tonight it had been 21 years of collecting records. He even worked at a local college radio station as a volunteer DJ in Highschool. He told me it's dangerous for him to walk into the new vinyl shop in his neighborhood!

When I was getting rid of my records before moving to Florida, he came over and chose some of mine to add to his collection.... Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival.... Dallas follows a large number and variety of artists and goes to as many shows as he can. He writes and shares about both new and established musical artists. He makes a list of his favorite bands every year. It's so lovely to have a photo that showcases his passion.

Tomorrow I will be home. This is the longest time I've spent away from Steve ever, it was almost two weeks. Leaving him and my mom was hard but Steve was right. He didn't have to worry about me being anxious or upset and he could concentrate on taking care of my mom who has dementia and of course, himself. Since then he's discovered how to support my mom in a way that my sister & I can't simply by because we're her daughters. He is visiting her daily and helping her to manage.

I have had unexpected wonderful experiences while away, spending time with my family and even two of our dear friends who live part of the year in Massachusetts and the other part in Bradenton. The awful, frightening hurricane which brought everyone so much stress also brought a lot of goodness and joy after it settled and for that I am grateful.
