Pond lining

Luckily this morning's torrential rain moved away by late morning and left us with a beautiful day.  I was able to prune the buddleja.  We have a dozen of them (for the butterflies) and I halved their height from about 3m to 1.5m.  Then I trimmed the last hedge that didn't get done last year.  So I now have a huge compost heap of twigs and branches.

Meanwhile MrHCB was finishing digging a hole for a second small pond.  It's about 2m long, 1.5m wide and 0.5m deep at its deepest.  The image is of the pond liner filled with water.  Once it has moulded itself to shape we will trim the liner and edge it with stones and logs ready for water lilies and marginals :-)
