Budapest day something
Another full day of exploring today
I walked over Margaret’s Bridge and then the Metro to the City Park to explore it more fully. My favourite part was definitely the Museum of Ethnography which was an architectural delight and gave some good views over the city. I sat in the sun and read my book for a bit, allowing my face to soak up and store some of that Vitamin D for the winter months. Back on the Metro to the centre of Pest to meet Agi for lunch. We went to a cute little Hungarian place and I let her order for me: three courses of the most Hungarian food on the menu. It was a delight and I enjoyed trying all the traditional foods. Totally stuffed again though. A quick coffee before saying a final farewell to Agi, but hopefully not for as long this time.
I got a bit more sun sitting by the Danube and then headed back into the city to try and find the ruin bars recommended to me by Ali. They were extremely cool and so I enjoyed a pint there watching the world go by and enjoying the unique surroundings.
Some statue hunting on the way home - the statue that features on Eva’s book plus a couple of miniature statues that I’ve been hunting - and a couple of trams home. Always a nice way to end the day.
26,000 steps done so I think I’ll sleep well tonight.
Budapest is such a brilliant city and I’ve had an absolute blast exploring it. Just one more day to go.
