Let's party like it's 2019

A lazy morning reading Wikipedia and thinking about the stuff Random Colleague told me about Berlin's fractured history.  It was all on the news of course when I was growing up but it was just pictures of soldiers, Checkpoint Charlie, crumbling hi-rises, and an occasional familiar name.  I'm surprised I took in so much as my head has been on the precipice all day.

After lunch I set to studying the Honda ST1300 wiring diagram.  It is really very complicated.  Bestie got a good handle on it yesterday evening but her brain was working and mine wasn't.  For reasons known only to John Haynes himself, probably, the fuses are labelled differently from how Mr Honda did it, so I only had half a clue as to which fuse on paper related to which one in the real world.

I gave up in the end and cycled to the shops for the usual supplies.  I had a nice chat with one of the rangers who was checking on some oak tree saplings he'd planted near the big pond.  And since I was in the area I thought I'd see what was new at the Graffiti Tunnel.  We have a huge mural that I think is related to the film, Blade Runner.  Something called "the Voight-Kampff test" was used by the Blade Runners (part of the NYPD in the future*) to determine whether or not someone was a replicant.  I suppose it was analogous to a lie detector test but with more bells and whistles.  In fairness, I've only seen the film once a long time ago and I don't remember much of it.

* I say 'future', but 2019 probably did feel pretty futuristic in 1982!
