Winter had a kick
at us with a dusting of
snow on our hillsides

I slept in until 8 to find my brother sitting in the living room patiently waiting for morning coffee. He'd arrived yesterday after a bit of a nasty drive in wet snow over the top of the Coquihalla summit. He had come to help me sort a problem at my business. I was grateful for his assistance and it gave us another visit before I leave for the winter.
Today, we brunched together on eggs benedict at a local restaurant, then he was off home. It's still a windy, chilly day and he was going to take the Fraser Canyon home as the lower elevation could spare him a repeat of yesterday's journey.
I made a brief stop at the post office, then I headed to my painting buddy's house with a care package. When I am away for the winter, I miss Christmas and her birthday in January, so I take her a goodie bag of some treats so she knows I'm thinking of her.
I did a quick trip around her garden. The best of summer is gone but I always enjoy the garden decorations and the windchimes she's made. I caught her in her red jacket refilling the birdbath.
I have a friend to collect at the airport this evening. I need to do some tidying up before then. I hope my daughter returns this afternoon so we can go to the airport together.
