The Birthday Present

We have just had the most expensive meal in our lives- thanks to a very generous 80th  birthday present from M’s family.
 
It was the first time we had ever eaten in a Michelin starred restaurant and eaten their Chef’s sampler   menu.
We had heard of the Orangery restaurant in Stirling but had never dared eat there before. Was it worth it? Yes, the service was impeccable and the food, well what can one say it was extraordinary.
Nine courses in all, albeit some were tiny.  Halfway through we had a 15-minute break to allow us to digest it all.
For us it was a once in a lifetime experience- so special thanks to M’s family for making his birthday such a memorable occasion.
(Yes, his birthday was a few weeks ago but getting a table in the Orangery restaurant requires weeks of advance booking.)
