Barangaroo Metro

Up until now, getting to this Barangaroo precinct has been largely a matter of walking, unless one takes the ferry ... which STILL requires a walk.

Now, the metro takes you right here in a single step, quickly and efficiently. Above is the entrance to Barangaroo metro station.

There is going to be a huge new residential development just to the other side of the low hoarding in the background, which will ultimately make the metro even MORE important, given that there'll be thousands of additional people calling this district "home".

If one turns 90 degrees to the right from the blip's viewpoint, you see what appears in extra one. Given that metro trains heading north from here immediately enter the cross harbour tunnel, it is safe to say that the platforms for this station lie well below "bottom of the harbour" level.  That last expression used to describe illegal tax dodges. My how things change. Indeed everything connected with the new transport system seems just a bit giddy for THIS old timer.
