Wentworth St in Spring

One of the prettiest avenues in Blackheath is Wentworth St. It is lined with Plane trees and Liquid Ambers, which furnish fabulous colours for both spring and autumn.

Right about now, the trees are bursting with fresh shoots. On a sunny day like this, in the early afternoon, I was wearing polaroid sunglasses which did enhance the scene a little more than normal. I was disappointed that my unprocessed pictures seemed overly contrasty but subdued, compared to what I saw on site through my Ray Bans..

Accordingly I reduced contrast and applied Nik's digital polaroid filter in an effort to return the scene to my original impression. Entirely accurate? Probably not ... but closer than what had been soberly recorded in the first instance. I actually slid the saturation slider DOWN a fraction before posting..
