Durham

Durham, albeit a rather impressionistic version by Turner. Off there tomorrow for some research interviews. It is a fantastic place, and you cannot beat the cathedral for history, culture and atmosphere. The only trouble is that once you have seen this, other cathedrals around Europe are not so great - except for that rather strange Antonio Gaudi unfinished attempt, the Sangrada Familia in Barcelona. That is more interesting in a modernist fashion.
