Calling for food

Chose to go straight home from work; maybe Western Springs Lake tomorrow. I walked along the lower pipeline and heard many tui as well as other birds. The only tui I actually saw scarpered the instant I saw it.

I heard and then saw a male blackbird, and ditto a young blackbird. I've chosen a photo of the young bird as my blip. The adult male blackbird made warning calls. Maybe the nest is higher up amid the ponga fronds.
