Looking north in Manhattan

Yes, H and I went up the Empire State Building on our brief day trip to Manhattan on the way to the airport. I'm glad it was a Sunday as it was busy, but not as busy on the trains as it would have been on a weekday.

Didn't really get all that far as we stayed on foot, but did get some food, went to a bookshop, people watched and generally took it all in. H was dismayed by the smells and a few of the sights, which is understandable after several days in semi-rural Pennsylvania, but gradually got used to it all.
